In 2014, the Southeast Side Neighborhood Group discussed the desire to update Alexander Park. Shortly thereafter, the idea of creating an aviation-themed park was born. The group approached City and County leaders with the concept. As with many ideas, the cost of the dream far exceeded the municipal budget, but the group was not deterred and set out to make the dream a reality.
Countless hours have been put forth by SE Side volunteers working with City and County leaders and Becher-Hoppe engineers to develop the park plan. Highlights include:
